A quickly rising presence in the musical world, “Violin Phenom” (Buffalo Rising) Andrea Cicalese, was born in Naples, Italy, in 2005. Despite his young age, Andrea possesses a “musical maturity that most artists cannot achieve even after decades” (SZ) and a “technical fluency that makes an impression” (AZ).

He often performs as soloist in some of the most renowned concert halls around the world, such as Berliner Philharmonie, Isarphilharmonie and Prinzregententheater München, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Tonhalle Zürich, Auditorium RAI Torino, Sibelius Talo, and Kleinhans Music Hall of Buffalo. In 2025 he has signed an exclusive recording contract with SONY CLASSICAL and since 2023 he plays on a Guarneri Del Gesú (1731), kindly provided to him by the philanthropic initiative Adopt a Musician (Music Masterpieces Lugano).

Andrea works with some of today’s leading conductors, such as Hannu Lintu or JoAnn Falletta, collaborating with orchestras such as NDR Radiophilharmonie, RAI National Symphony Orchestra (Torino), Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Philharmonia, Sinfonia Lahti, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Munich Symphony, Munich State Theatre Orchestra, or Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini (Parma).

He is quickly establishing himself as a passionate recitalist and chamber musician, working with star pianists Beatrice Rana, Eric Lu, Alexander Malofeev, Yekwon Sunwoo, Filippo Gorini, and Julien Quentin. Over a very short period of time the young violinist has become a regular at prestigious festivals all over Europe, such as Rheingau Musik Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, Moritzburg Festival, Dvořák Prague International Music Festival, Ravello Festival, Classiche Forme, or Al Bustan Festival and he performs in many of today’s most established concert series, like “I concerti Del Quirinale” in Rome, “Serie Jeune” of Tonhalle Zürich, “Aspect Concert Series” in NYC, “Konzertdirektion Hörtnagel”, or “Societá del Quartetto di Bergamo”.
